Vera Ann Farmiga (/fɑːrˈmiːɡə/ far-MEEG-ə; born August 6, 1973) is an American actress who is best known for portraying paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren in the Conjuring Universe films The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016), Annabelle Comes Home (2019) and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021). She had breakthrough came in 2004 with her starring role as a drug addict in the drama Down to the Bone and 2009 comedy-drama Up in the Air,. She has received several awards including a People's Choice Award, a Saturn Award and a Satellite Award with nomination for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award.
She portrayed Kate Coleman, the protagonist of Orphan, the 2009 movie.
